George and William Penrose established the first glass manufactory in Waterford in 1783. The Crystal as it is known locally was housed on various sites over the years due to its continued expansion. This modern facility includes a manufacturing facility where you can experience first hand craftsmen including: blowers, cutters and engravers at work during a factory tour.

The House of Waterford Crystal is

proud to have been named as the ‘Best Ireland’s Ancient East Tourism Experience’ at the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC) Awards. The Awards, organised by ITIC, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland, gathered the ‘crème de la crème’ of the Irish tourism industry, announcing 15 winning companies as best in their category from 75 shortlisted finalists, selected from approximately 250 entries.
