Art on the Railings
The aim of the exhibition is to give artists the opportunity to connect and build the art community within the city. We are using the festival dates to utilize the amount of visitors to the area, therefore maximising the visibility of the artworks and sales opportunities.
If you enjoy being surrounded by lovely art, please come out and support Art On The Railings in the summer by viewing, having a chat with and maybe even buying a piece of art from the artists!
Dates Confirmed for 2019 (from 11am to 4pm)

- Saturday August Bank Holiday Weekend August 3rd
- Harvest Festival Weekend Saturday September 7th
Calling all artists to get involved in colouring the city streets during the summer months by joining Art On The Railings. Put simply, we’re looking for artists to hang their artwork from as many spaces as possible in the Viking Triangle.
Simply get in touch via email, Facebook or mobile phone and sign up with a submission form (so we have your contact details). The artwork hung from railings in specified spaces within and surrounding the Viking Triangle. We ask all artists to be in place 30 minutes before event at a minimum. Exhibition is weather dependent and all participants will be contacted at 5pm the day prior to the event in the event of adverse weather.
The AOTR’s organisers retain a discretionary policy for participation, please do not hang anything that would offend our visitors, children or your mother! AOTR’s do not hold artwork insurance. As there are no facilitators on site, all artists taking part in the event must invigilate their own space. Artists will be grouped accordingly including collectives, groups and/or mediums as appropriate. Please do get in touch with any questions.
