DemolitionGreyfriars Gallery primarily hosts exhibitions of selected artworks from the Waterford Municipal Art Collection. Founded in the late 1930s, the collection contains over four hundred artworks including some of Irelands leading 20th century painters e.g. Jack B.Yeats, Paul Henry, Evie Hone, Louis LeBrocquy, and contemporary artists, e.g. Hughie O’Donoghue, Donald Teskey, Kathleen Delaney, and Breda Lynch. Greyfriars Gallery also occasionally hosts contemporary art, music, poetry, and literature events.
‘This current exhibition is a selection of works chosen from the Municipal collection exploring connections between artists and styles from the 19th and 20th Century and curated by Ciara Gilbert and Ruth Brennan.
