94117 The Reg Waterford presents the return of “Viking Rocks Music Festival” on Baileys New Street in the heart of Waterford’s Viking Triangle. The three day music festival will host some of Waterford’s most established live bands.

On Friday night “Cut Once” will open the Viking Rocks Festival. This new duo featuring well known Waterford performer Aisling Browne formed in September 2014 are not to be missed!

Saturday night of the festival, in association with WLR fm, sees “The Frank and Walters” take the stage. Hailing from Cork, they have been releasing alternative pop classics for the last 21 years.Two decades on from the release of their very first record, the Franks continue to defy expectations. Their music today is as relevant as it ever was and only a handful of bands anywhere in the world can lay claim to such longevity of popularity.

noc noc 2Supporting act on Saturday night are “The Pale”. Formed in Dublin, they released an award winning debut album n 1992 called “Here’s One We Made Earlier”. The debut album and live shows received critical praise worldwide with singles from the album doing well both in the UK and Ireland. As the group have toured they have added and subtracted instruments and players to the line-up. The mainstay of the group has remained to be the unique sound they started out with. The Sound of the group is one of ethnic fusion and is often referred to as eclectic and quirky. Over the years The Pale have recorded five live sessions for RTE radio and a further two for BBC radio. The Pale have just completed recording a new album due for release this year. These two established Irish bands, with an amazing mix of rock and indie, are sure create a great atmosphere and give the audience a night to remember.

Officially formed in 2011, their self-titled debut album was released in March 2014 reached no.5 in the Irish Album Chart and no.1 in the Irish Indie Chart. They have toured extensively in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Europe as well as providing support to bands such as The Strypes , Haim , The Courteeners The Fry and The Libertines with alternative rock band “Delorentos” will be rocking Baileys New Street and bringing the fantastic weekend of amazing live performances to a close.

Tickets on sale now and can be purchased online @ http://www.events.reg.ie. Pre booking is advisable as this is guaranteed to be a very popular event.
