the comeraghThe Nire Valley Autumn Walking Festival is one of Ireland’s longest running and best established walking festivals. Walkers will journey into and across the Comeragh Mountains with guides who are local and passionate about the area.

The event starts on Friday the 10th of October 2014 in Melody’s pub, Ballymacarbry. Walkers will get a chance to see what walks are on offer and chat with fellow walkers and some of the guides.

On Saturday the 11th of October 2014 the walks begin. There are a choice of four walks which walkers can choose from. The festival is aimed at beginners and experienced hikers. The Saturday night is the “21st birthday party night” which will include dinner and music for everyone.

On Sunday the 12th of October the walks will continue. The Sunday has a family walk added to the adventure and it is a fantastic way to get out and about with the family. There is plenty accommodation from top end guesthouses to hostel accommodation which are in the heart of Ballymacarbry village.
