Culture Night is a unique night in the Irish calendar where you can experience the myriad of cultural possibilities your city has to offer, for free. Waterford celebrated Culture Night with over 30 different happenings. The night received a great response and there were many new faces at the various events. Culture Night is aimed at people who wouldn’t normally get a chance to savour some of the city’s most artistic offerings.
For example, all of the city’s art galleries are open – Greyfriars’ Gallery, Hive Emerging Gallery, Garter Lane Gallery, Southpaw Gallery and Soma Gallery. There are also free artist’s studio tours in Garter Lane,
18 Lombard Street and 6 Lombard Street. The Regional hospital has musicians in the Foyer and you can pop in FREE to the award winning Medieval Museum in the Viking Triangle for a free tour!
Culture Night is an initiative co-ordinated by Temple Bar Cultural Trust and supported by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in partnership with the regional arts offices and local authorities throughout the island of Ireland.
