A new Irish opera based on “The Bacchae” by Euripides.
Created by Waterford composer Eric Sweeney and poet Mark Roper,
director Ben Barnes and his celebrated creative team bring this
strikingly beautiful composition to the stage creating a contemporary
world familiar to us all. Giving the illusion of control until we look up one
night and see emerging from darkness, beyond the gleaming glass walls;
a figure, at once beautiful and terrible, a charismatic invader, looking to be
admitted, and after whom nothing can ever be the same again.
Cast includes: Telman Guzevsky, Joe Corbett, Natasha Jouhl and Alison
